Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of adding to their four summer signings, with the a move for the West Ham United midfielder reportedly advancing rapidly.
Fernandes arrived in England in 2024 joining Southampton for £15million from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
Following the Saints’ relegation to the Championship the Hammers snapped up Fernandes for £38million.
Despite back-to-back relegations the midfielder has 72 Premier League appearances and 14 goal contributions. At the age of just 21, he has a number of sides battling for his signature.
However, it is believed Spurs are currently ahead in the race. Manchester United remain interested but Roberto De Zerbi’s side are willing to offer a substantially higher wage than the Red Devils.
Spurs have already landed free agents Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, alongside completing a £52million move for Jan Paul van Hecke.
