Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has officially announced his departure from the club, bringing an emotional end to his decade-long Premier League journey.
The 33-year-old made the announcement at a press conference in Seoul ahead of Spurs’ preseason clash with Newcastle, calling it “the toughest decision of my career.”
Son expressed pride in his 10-year spell at Spurs, highlighting achievements like winning the Europa League and the Premier League Golden Boot (2021–22). He also famously claimed the FIFA Puskás Award in 2020 for his breathtaking solo goal against Burnley.
Although Spurs had triggered a contract extension until 2026, Son revealed it’s time for a “new beginning.” He did not confirm his next destination, but MLS side LAFC and several Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly vying for his signature.
Son leaves Tottenham as a modern legend, beloved for his consistency, professionalism, and flair — closing the chapter on a glittering era in North London.
