The 16-time Ukrainian Premier League champions have been in talks with Premier League side Brentford over hosting their home fixtures in the 2026-27 Champions League.
Shakhtar are unable to stage European games at Arena Lviv due to Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Russia. UEFA has prohibited the current Ukrainian champions from hosting their home games in Ukraine for safety reasons.
With Brentford having missed out on European qualification on the final day of the Premier League season, the Gtech Community Stadium is being considered as a potential venue. Other English clubs and German clubs are reportedly under consideration.
Shakhtar played their home Conference League matches last season in both Slovenia and Poland .
