Manchester United have made an audacious move to land Fermin Lopez, submitting a €80m (£69m) bid for the Barcelona midfielder, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The 22-year-old Spain international has four years left on his deal at the Nou Camp but faces an uncertain future under new boss Hansi Flick. With no guarantees of regular minutes, Barca are said to be considering United’s proposal — and a summer exit could be one of the window’s biggest deals.
United Ready to Hand Fermin a Starring Role
Since making his senior debut in August 2023, Fermin has racked up 88 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists. He played a key role in last season’s La Liga and Copa del Rey double, and impressed in the Champions League with five goal contributions in 11 games.
United boss Ruben Amorim reportedly sees him as a dynamic midfield presence who can inject youth and energy into the squad — and the club is prepared to improve their bid to get the deal done.
