Manchester United are set to trim their squad with Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Højlund both on the verge of leaving Old Trafford, according to reports in Italy.
United have already strengthened their frontline with the arrivals of Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and focus has now shifted towards moving players on.
Sancho to Roma
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim United have agreed a £20m (€23m) fee with Roma for Jadon Sancho. The England international is said to have accepted a pay cut, spreading his wages across a five-year contract worth €4.5m plus add-ons.
The deal is in its final stages, with agent commissions the last detail to resolve. Roma are reportedly hopeful of closing within 48 hours.
Højlund to Milan
Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport report United are ready to approve a loan move for Rasmus Højlund to AC Milan, with a €5m fee and a €40m option to buy in 2026.
The Danish striker, however, is pushing for a release clause to be included in any permanent deal, potentially lower than Milan’s current buyout figure.
Højlund has featured in pre-season under new boss Ruben Amorim, but if he fails to get minutes in today’s opener against Arsenal, it may be the clearest signal yet that his United career is nearing an end.
The bigger picture
United loaned Marcus Rashford to Barcelona earlier this summer, and with Sancho and Højlund likely following him out, Amorim will be banking heavily on his new attacking trio to deliver.
