🎯 “I want to fight Suarez.” – Evra
Former Man United star Patrice Evra has named one very specific rival for his MMA debut — Luis Suarez. Yes, that Luis Suarez. And it might actually happen.
The ex-United captain signed with PFL (Professional Fighters League) and will make his MMA debut in Paris on May 23. Opponent? Still TBC. But Evra is clear: he wants to settle a score.
“When the PFL asked me who I’d like to fight, I said Luis Suarez,” Evra told Ariel Helwani.
“We had beef when I was at United and he was at Liverpool. It was serious.”
He’s referring to the infamous racism incident in 2011, when Suarez was hit with an eight-game ban for using racially abusive language towards Evra.
👀 Suarez’s camp has made contact
It gets juicier. According to Evra, Suarez’s manager has reached out to PFL — potentially to attend the fight in Paris.
“I don’t know if it’s true, but his manager apparently contacted the PFL. Maybe just to watch – maybe more,” Evra said.
Despite Suarez still playing (currently with Inter Miami), Evra isn’t ruling anything out. He knows the risk of injury for an active footballer is high, but if the call comes, he’s ready.
💥 Real-life grudge match incoming?
Evra doubled down on his callout:
“He used racist words – I’m not saying he’s a racist – but this is something personal. I want that fight.”
The current main event for the Paris card is a lightweight clash between Mansour Barnaoui and Archie Colgan, but let’s be real — if Evra vs Suarez gets locked in, this becomes the must-watch headline.
