Liverpool could be facing competition on two fronts this summer — with Barcelona and Juventus now reportedly ready to join the race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The Reds have been in talks with Palace over the 25-year-old, who has just one year left on his contract. Palace want to cash in to avoid losing him for free next summer, but The Guardian claims Guehi may stay in South London if Liverpool don’t meet their £40m valuation — and could then negotiate with overseas clubs from January 1.
Palace’s Dilemma
Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is said to prefer Guehi sees out his deal, but chairman Steve Parish recently admitted a sale may be necessary. If Guehi does run down his contract, Barcelona and Juventus are ready to pounce.
Ben Doak Could Leave Anfield for £20m
Meanwhile, Liverpool have slapped a £20m price tag on winger Ben Doak. The 19-year-old impressed during a loan spell at Middlesbrough last season and has attracted interest from Leeds United, West Ham and other Premier League sides.
Signed from Celtic for just £600,000 three years ago, Doak could net the Reds a huge profit — but only if a club matches their asking price.
