14 November 2025 — Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he’ll return to the sidelines next summer as a studio pundit for MagentaTV at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. In a teaser video, the former Liverpool boss joked about a touchline comeback before clarifying he’ll be on analysis duty rather than in the dugout.
Klopp, 58, stepped away from management in 2024 but has remained active in the game. He became Red Bull’s Head of Global Soccer on 1 January 2025, an executive role overseeing the company’s football portfolio rather than day-to-day coaching.
Last month, the German was also named to a new German Football League (DFL) expert group tasked with recommending reforms to strengthen the domestic game, joining figures including World Cup winner Sami Khedira.
MagentaTV’s World Cup coverage is set to feature a high-profile cast, with Klopp slated to provide insight across the tournament from 11 June to 19 July 2026. For Liverpool supporters and neutrals alike, it marks the first time since his Anfield farewell that Klopp will offer regular, on-air analysis of elite international football.
