England fans pinpoint one player who MUST start at the World Cup

He put in an excellent performance against Costa Rica

Following England’s 3-0 friendly win over Costa Rica, fans have flocked to social media to show support for one player in particular, with many claiming he MUST start against Croatia.

The left wing is one of the positions that is currently seen as ‘up for grabs’ in Thomas Tuchel’s England side to start the 2026 World Cup, but fans now believe Anthony Gordon should cement that spot.

Gordon, who has just moved to Barcelona from Newcastle, lit up the friendly match with his direct running and added the cherry on the cake with a great finish from the penalty spot.

Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers are both also in contention for the left wing spot, but Rogers has also been giving Jude Bellingham a run for his money in the number ten position and Rashford’s form has been patchy at best.
