Liverpool Set for Talks With Rodrygo’s Agent Amid Isak Uncertainty

Liverpool are preparing to hold talks with the agent of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes as their pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak becomes increasingly complicated.

According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola (via GOAL), Rodrygo’s representative has flown into England, with both Liverpool and Manchester City set to meet him. City’s interest is believed to hinge on the possible departure of Savinho, leaving the Reds with a clearer path to sign the 24-year-old.

Liverpool’s need for another forward has intensified following the sales of Darwin Núñez and Luis Díaz, as well as the tragic passing of Diogo Jota. Manager Arne Slot admitted last week that further attacking reinforcements are a priority.

Rodrygo, a natural left winger, could prove a more suitable fit than Isak, who would likely need to be accommodated out wide alongside new signing Hugo Ekitike.

The Brazilian has struggled for minutes under Xabi Alonso, failing to start any of Madrid’s last six games and remaining on the bench in their La Liga opener against Osasuna. While Real Madrid value him highly, they are not expected to block an exit should the player push to leave.

With Liverpool’s forward line in transition, a move for Rodrygo could accelerate in the coming days as Isak’s future at Newcastle remains unresolved.
