Bangkok Diners Club is Manchester’s wild new flavour trip — and it slaps

Tucked above a pub in Ancoats, you’ll find a place that doesn’t just serve Thai food — it rewires it. Meet Bangkok Diners Club, the new upstairs takeover at the Edinburgh Castle that’s about to become Manchester’s hottest table.

Led by husband-and-wife duo Ben and Bo Humphreys, this is Thai food with swagger: a fusion of Bangkok heat, Isaan soul, and Miami smokehouse chaos — filtered through a Manchester lens. And yes, somehow, it works.

🔥 The food? Unhinged in the best way

  • Artichoke & golden beet massaman with chicken-fat rice = bliss
  • Salt-aged beef nam tok with bone marrow aïoli = bold
  • Pork jowl tacos with burnt tomato jaew = ridiculous
  • Smoked mackerel + grapefruit & ginger salad = perfect weirdness

Even the sides slap: fermented yellow bean broccoli, shrimp floss papaya salad, and pickled onion rings with curry salt (yep).

This isn’t your usual curry-house-with-a-Buddha-statue. Nor is it another “gritty” London-style Thai that forgets food should actually taste good. It’s authentic, experimental, warm, and deeply personal.

🪩 Vibes? Intimate and unpretentious

Bo serves tables. Dishes come fast. No fuss, just fire.
And that rice ice cream lolly? Wild, nostalgic, and very Manchester.
