Nottingham Forest reject £120million bid for Elliot Anderson

Nottingham Forest want to keep their star man

Manchester City’s pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has suffered a setback, after a verbal proposal worth a total of £120million was rejected by the Premier League club.

According to reports from David Ornstein, City have been actively pursuing the England international this summer, with Nottingham Forest already turning down an opening offer as Pep Guardiola’s side continue their search for midfield reinforcements. Further reports suggest City’s latest package, worth around £106million up front, with add-ons taking it over £120million, has also been rejected as Forest hold out for an even higher fee.

The development represents one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer window, with Anderson emerging as one of the most sought-after midfielders in English football following his impressive performances for Nottingham Forest.

Manchester City view Anderson as a key target as they look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable rise since joining Nottingham Forest and has established himself as both a Premier League standout performer and an England international.

City’s close rivals Manchester United are also keeping an eye on Anderson, but insist they will not enter a bidding war and will only target players who actively want to join the club.

Reports indicate Forest are seeking a fee that would exceed the biggest transfer for a British player in Premier League history – Declan Rice’s £105million move to rivals Arsenal.

The expectation is that Manchester City will continue exploring a deal despite the latest rejection. David Ornstein has reported that City’s interest remains ongoing, suggesting the Premier League champions are not prepared to walk away from negotiations just yet.
