Donald Trump has just dropped one of his wildest defence projects yet — a $175 billion space-based missile shield he’s calling the Golden Dome.
Announced during a White House briefing this week, the plan involves launching next-gen tech into space to track and destroy missiles — even those fired from the other side of the planet. Or, yep, from orbit.
“This is a very dangerous world,” Trump warned. “We’re going to protect our citizens like never before.”

Not a literal dome (sorry, Simpsons fans), but a massive, Iron Dome-style missile defence system — just way more ambitious. The idea? Blanket the U.S. with a satellite-powered shield that can detect, track and blow up enemy missiles before they land.
